The Alliance for Affordable Internet (2021) in the report “The Costs of Exclusion: Economic Consequences of the Digital Gender Gap” provided the results of the measuring of the economic cost of digital exclusion. The research focused on low and lower-middle-income countries (LLMICs), where the digital gender gap is often greatest. The findings suggest a substantial digital gender gap. Specifically, the loss to GDP in 2020 caused by women’s exclusion from the digital world has been estimated at 126 USD Billion.
