The Research Through Co-design (RTC) (Busciantella-Ricci & Scataglini, 2024) is a theoretical perspective that matches the Research Through Design (Glanville, 2005; Findeli et al., 2008; Jonas, 2015) with the Control System Theory (Levine, 1996; Iglesias & Ingalls, 2010; King, 2021) by leveraging co-design as the main mean of the research process. The RTC describes a mechanism of co-creation of knowledge through a co-design process in a wider research process, and thus by taking advantage of processes based on collective intelligence and creativity (Busciantella Ricci & Scataglini, 2020a; 2020b; 2024).
